Tera-fying

So, I've been playing Tera as much as my computer issues will let me. For anyone that hasn't seen/heard anything about this game, here's a video that someone on my server (Celestial Hills, the only RP server so far) made as a guild advertisement.

I would just like to mention, the music from that is totally stuck in my head, and is driving me slightly crazy from wanting to know what the dang song is. Someday I will get the nerve to ask the guy in-game.

My alt-aholicism has followed me into Tera, and right now I have one of every class. I've tried all the races, but I wound up re-rolling my Elin and Popori, because I just can't seem to 'click' with a character that either looks like a pre-teen little girl, or like a short, round, little animal. So, it's all humans/High Elves/ Castanics for me. Most of my characters are male, as the skimpy anime-style armor on females makes playing them (which would normally be my preference) feel slightly awkward. I don't have too many screenshots of them yet, but here's a few pics of my guys. (And girls.)

The first character I made, Vanyel the High Elf sorcerer, on his horse. Did I mention that the game gives you a quest for a free mount? Total win. I created him on the open beta, and pre-buying the game meant that I got to keep him, instead of starting all over from scratch. He's currently sitting on a back-burner for now, at level 22, while my archer and warrior fight over my attention.

My Castanic archer Tathiel. He's currently level 34, and enjoys 3-shotting mobs on a regular basis. Yes, he is wearing purple leopard-print armor. And he looks pretty darn spiffy in it, too. He is my 'main' character at the moment, although my warrior is starting to take over that title.

My human warrior, Kerowyn, level 32, in one of the many cutscenes that pop up during the storyline quests, and sometimes at the start of boss fights in the instances. The cutscenes are amazing, and for those people that don't care about the lore and/or storylines, you are allowed to cancel them. I almost never do, which has led to some interesting encounters in dungeons.

party member: did we just lose Kero?
me: nope
me: distracted by cutscene >.>
party members: lol

This is my lancer, Dallen, at the start and end of fighting a world boss. If you look at the clock in the bottom right corner, you can see just how long it took to kill it. Lancers are the main tanks in Tera, and they can be nearly impossible to kill, but they make up for that in a total lack of DPS. Now, warriors can tank too, but they are more of an evasion tank (a bit like rogues in WoW), so good tanking with a warrior is difficult, and they aren't allowed to queue as tanks in the dungeon finder. The next patch is supposed to be buffing them some, and hopefully fixing the dungeon queues, though my Kerowyn is most likely always going to be DPS.

Dallen is sort of becoming my 'baby'. Tath and Kero are my main focus right now, but I keep coming back to him every now and then for a bit of questing, and fighting BAM monsters (Tera's version of elites, and believe me, they really are elites). I can solo almost anything on him, (even saved a wipe once by solo'ing the boss until the rest of the party could run back) even if it takes forever to kill it, and questing is just as fun on him as it is on my higher-damage classes. I've only tanked one instance so far, and while it was fun, I wasn't as prepared as I thought, and the result was a couple of deaths for the healer. The group was fine with everything, (PUGs are much more patient and tolerant until you reach the 50+ instances) but I didn't do as well as I would have liked, and I'm a bit nervous about trying again, so he's been stuck at level 26 for a while.

I don't have any screenies of the rest of my 'gang' yet, but just to round out the list:

Caderly is my High Elf priest, currently sitting at level 22,
Karral is my human mystic, at level 16 (I think, haven't logged on him in a while, must fix that...)
Kalenal is my Castanic slayer, at level 18, and likely to be the next DPS character I level up. Slayers are ridiculously fun.
Kerryn is my High Elf berserker, still stuck in the newbie zone at level 8. She's the reincarnation of my attempt at playing a Popori. He got all the way to level 16 before I lost all interest in playing a fat little husky-dog and re-rolled. I'm much happier with Kerryn, and she may give Kalenal some competition over my next level-up project.

And I believe that's it for now. I'll be posting more pics, once I actually remember to take some. >.>
And if anyone wants to know anything more about the game, you can go here.

Going to try to have another WoW post soon-ish as well. Til then, /waves.

Meet Khaltagg

Woof.

Lord of the Rings has a version of PvP, called PvMP (Player vs. Monster Player). Once you have a character at or above level 10, you can begin Monster Play. You can play as one of several different classes of orcs, as well as a spider, and a warg. Each monster is a counterpart to a Free Peoples class, with fighters, healers, and an archer. The warg is the baddies' version of a burglar.

Khaltagg is loads of fun. Monster Play starts you off right at max level, so you can head straight out into the Ettenmoors and start beating up Freeps (jargon for the good guys, us bad guys are called Creeps). There are also daily quests everywhere, and they all give destiny points (currency for training traits and skills) and most give infamy (sort of a cross between honor points and rep). Raising your infamy high enough gives you new ranks, which in turn raises your stats and gives access to more skills. So far, Khaltagg is rank 1, with only some limited play time in the evenings, when I'm bored but not sleepy enough to go to bed.

I'm planning a more or less IC post with Khaltagg in the (hopefully) near future. He may become something of a 'silly post' character, being a not-too-bright warg surrounded by not-much-brighter orcs, trolls, and goblins. We'll see how this goes. :D

Something I just found today, was a band in LotR, actually on the Laurelin server, that writes their own music and plays in public events. The band is called The Shades, and right here is an example of what talented people can do with LotR's music system.

And on that note, my minstrel Kyrreth is almost 28. Must go get a ding before this dang cold I'm getting makes me conk out.
... Well, at least getting sick might help my insomnia? :\
Anyways,... /waves

Theme Songs

I have been listening too itunes a lot lately, and thinking about some of my characters, and I think I've figured out theme songs for a couple of them.

For Kelesaria, I'll Survive, by Lacuna Coil.

Arien is definately Skillet's Awake and Alive.

For my warrior Kalenedral, Breaking Benjamin's I Will Not Bow fits her pretty well.

Those are the only ones I have figured out so far. Windstar is not cooperating with finding her theme. There's one or two songs that are close, but don't quite fit her. Guess I just need to keep thinking (and listening) for a while.

I draw stuff

Well, sketch might be more accurate. Mostly horses, though I have been experimenting with WoW stuff. So, here's a couple samples:

Windstar headshot-

My tauren druid Bearkat-

Totally random cat sketch, just for kicks-

And a couple of my favorite horse drawings-

I used to draw horses at my last job, whenever I was bored and had scrap paper handy. Random customers would compliment me a lot. Personally, I know I'm far from perfect, but I do enjoy it. I would totally welcome any opinions/suggestions anyone would like to make. Just be nice? I have a very small, fragile ego. :P

Also, a couple more random youtube music videos, for anyone interested. I finally found a couple versions of my favorite Red song. :D

And here's a few more of my favorites.

Yes, I do like a lot of random stuff, and most of it is metal. Also, decent music videos can be hard to find on youtube. :(

And now I've stayed up way too late again :(
Sleep time! /Waves

Holiday Fun

So, I've been doing the Pilgrim's bounty achievements ever since I found out there was a turkey pet. Kel is done already (had to kill the boss in Sethekk Halls twice, because first time I forgot to put her holiday outfit on >.<). Today was Tad's turn. A few days ago, Shaurria (who was trying to get a turkey pet as well) was asking about what level she could get into Sethekk. Aelflaed then volunteered to take her, and Tad too, to go kill the boss when she got back from vacation. Well, she got back today, off we went. Only had one accident with the mind-control totems, which killed Tad, but it was more funny than anything else. Shaur got a couple drops for the healing set she's trying to put together. And we got the boss with no problems!
(reserved for screenie of new pet that I was too excited to take at the time)
And then, after the run, Aely turkey-fied Tad! I found out something: If a hunter is a turkey, and said hunter feigns death, this is what happens:
(Yes, I have a messy UI. I have a lot of addons. It works for me pretty well though.)
In case you can't tell from the chat, I gave myself a tummy ache from laughing so hard. Maybe my current lack of decent sleep made this funnier than it shoud be, but come on. Blizz did an awesome job with this holiday, and it was worth the stallout it caused to Windstar's leveling. Which, by the way, she just hit 78, and has started Argent Tourney dailies. :D

Working on a story about Tad and Shaur getting into some mischief during the holiday. It's coming a little slow, though. Will have it done in the next day or two, hopefully.

And gotta say thanks again to Anna (aka Aely) and 'Mr. Anna' as well, for taking the time, right after returning from a trip too, to take me and Shaur through an instance that was way over our level range, just so we could get a pet. I know I've said it before, but it constantly amazes me how friendly and willing-to-help people on Feathermoon are. Maybe I was just too used to the elitist, everyone-for-themselves attitude that prevails on PVE servers, but this has totally renewed my enjoyment of the game.
And now, random video of a group I recently started listening to, called Fireflight. I think this might be my favorite already.
Forever

And now, goodnight! /waves

Quick Update

Been busy at work and too tired to think of anything to post lately, but here's a little something of what I've been up to.

Windstar has been sort of stuck at 71 for a couple days, but she's over halfway thru, so shouldn't be much longer before she dings.

She's getting close to being done in the Fjord too, haven't decided yet if I'm taking her back to Borean or going to Dragonblight. (Probably Dragonblight, Wrathgate questchain ftw)

I'm finally trying to finish Kel's Netherwing rep. Yes, I am a horrible procrastinater (sp?).

Not as much point now, as she has her 50 mounts and albino drake, and I don't care enough about the dragonhawk mount to continue, but big shiny netherdrake mount will be so cool. I'm hoping 2 or 3 days worth of dailies will finish the grind. Then I get to start it all over again with Arien. :P

And that is pretty much it. Like I said, work is keeping me busy :(

And just for kicks, here's a video from one of my favorite bands. Been listening to them a lot lately, and this is one of my 2 top favorites that they do.

Red - Let Go

Goodnight!
